The Merlin Trail has recently been launched with the project being headed up by author Robin Crichton.
The Trail is in four section, the first section of the Merlin Trail being the length of the Solway Coast from Ruthwell to the Kirkmadrine Stones near Sandhead on the Rhins of Galloway.
Each section is split into two days, so why not spend a couple off nights with us here in Portpatrick while you are exploring these sections of tj Merlin Trail.
Nearby attractions featured in the first section are Dunragit, Kirkmadrine, St Ninian`s Cave and the Isle of Whithorn.

While Merlin is basically a fictional character in the Legends of King Arthur, the real Merlin lived in the South of Scotland in the late 6th Century.
